Where do I start?

We are a popular Church for Baptisms and get booked-up very quickly.

You will need to come along to the Parish Office on either a Tuesday 3.30pm-4.30pm or
a Wednesday 6.30pm-8.00pm.
You don’t need an appointment, just turn-up and a member of the Clergy will see you.

They will ask you questions to see if you are able to have your child Baptized at this Church.

You will be given a Baptism Pack to take away and forms to return if you wish to proceed.

When do the Baptism Services take Place?

Baptism Services usually take place at 1130am and 1230pm on the first Sunday of the month.

How do I Book a Baptism?

After your first meeting you will need to return the completed application Form to the Clergy in Parish Office when it is open on a Tuesday or Wednesday.

How Many Godparents do we need?

You probably already have some idea who there're going to be. We ask you to bear in mind that Godparents are not just there to look after the child should something happen to you. They are also there to help the child grow in the ways and life of the Church. We ask that there should be a minimum of three Godparents (you can have more!), at least one male and one female Godparent, be themselves already Baptized into a mainstream Christian Church. They should be at least 18 years old. Remember that Parents can also be Godparents. If there are any problems choosing the Godparents the Clergy are happy to talk it through with you.

Can my older children be Baptized?

For many reasons, sometimes older children or even their parents, haven't been Baptized. Anyone can be Baptized at any age, from being just born to 150! Often with older children and adults, we ask that they be confirmed as well. Ask the Clergy for details and guidance

Help! My Children are noisy!

All children can be noisy. Children are welcome in Church and, like any family, the Church accepts children’s noise as part of a healthy family life. We offer the following suggestions to help

Babies and Toddlers

Bring soft toys without bells, rattles or wind-up wheels.

It’s a good idea to leave your child in the pram or buggy as long as possible.

There’s room at the front of the Church to have the buggy with you. The baby may even go to sleep

Two years and Upwards

We have bags available with picture books, soft toys and all kinds of things to keep young children happy. Ask the Sides person at the back of Church for one. We find the only problem is getting the children to give them back!

Are there Toilets in the Church?

There is a toilet in the Annex attached to the Church. It is also suitable for disabled people to use.

The Annex is also a good place for Baby Changing or Toddler Tantrums!

Can we Photograph and Video the Service?

These are allowed but we ask that the video camera or the flash photography don’t become the centre of attention.

With photography it is often better to wait to the end of the Service when you can pose for the photographs.

The Clergy are also willing to take part in posed photographs!

You just need to fill out a form. These are given out at the preparation meetings.
